John 1:12-13 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God - children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
Something about the phrase "born of God" has caught my attention on this day. There is so much more to being born of God, and I think we just get a small glimpse of it. Being a child of God is not about our natural self. Being a child of God refers to our spiritual self. The amazing thing about God is that when we are His children, he changes the very nature of who we are. We are no longer under the laws of nature, but rather our hearts are transformed into beautiful creations of Christ. When we are in Christ, our natural body responds differently to the world. The Spirit works in us to make us into the creation God created at the beginning through Jesus. When we receive Jesus and are born into the family of God, we are no longer the same. We are born of God. How incredible!
