1 John 4:10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
When I asked God what He wanted to tell me today, He said, "I am love." God is love. He is often portrayed or thought of as being the big mean judge. While God is a judge, it is not the kind of judge we think of in our earthly realm of the word. God as a judge looks in love with the purpose of redeeming what has been broken. He is moved to act on our behalf to heal our soul's deepest wound, sin. He shows us that over and over in the Bible. His most significant act of love is putting Jesus on the cross in our place. God gave us a way to be healed and spend eternity with Him and that "way" is through is own son that we might become heirs with him. God loves us. It is just that simple. He is not out to get us with His giant gavel and furrowed brow. He is out to redeem us through His son, and redemption is all about love. Think today on how much God loves you…enough to give His son for your sin and the sin of the world that you may be redeemed and live with Him.
