John 21:22 Jesus answered, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me."
Sometimes we fall into the cycle of looking at others and questioning their hearts. Jesus reminds Peter in this verse that it is not our job to worry about others. Our job is to follow Him. If we do this, then all other pieces will fall into place. Sometimes it is easier to look on others and compare ourselves to them. In a shallow way, this makes us feel better about who we are. But to bring ourselves into deeper relationship with Christ, we must be willing to look at ourselves for who we truly are, realize what God created us to be and let His love and grace change our hearts. Christ said that we must follow Him. Only in Him will we discover who we really are and only then will we be satisfied. Christ is the only one we should look upon.
